Expert training to sharpen your skills
Group lessons provide structured training sessions where fencers develop their physical, technical, and tactical skills under the guidance of a coach. These sessions focus on essential footwork, hand techniques, and overall athletic conditioning. Since different aspects of physical training are required for fencing, each session targets a specific area of improvement. Fencers can participate in group lessons anywhere from once a week to daily, depending on their level and training goals. Beginners typically start with fewer sessions and increase their frequency as they progress. Check our group lesson schedule for more details.
Private lessons offer one-on-one training with a coach, focusing on refining techniques and building fluency through repetition. These sessions typically last 20 minutes but can be extended based on individual needs. The number of private lessons per week depends on your level and goals. However, taking at least one private lesson per week significantly accelerates learning and improves technique with personalized guidance.
For those unable to attend in person, we offer online virtual classes—30-minute personalized training sessions with a coach. These sessions mirror private lessons, allowing fencers to continue improving their skills even while traveling or facing scheduling conflicts.
We are proud to be the first fencing club in the U.S. to offer a high-level conditioning program tailored for athletes of all levels. This program takes into account age, growth phase, gender, and personal goals to create customized workouts that can be done at home with minimal or no equipment. Its uniqueness and importance make it an essential part of every fencer’s development.
Open fencing sessions allow fencers to spar freely with one another, applying what they’ve learned in a real bout setting. These sessions are crucial for skill reinforcement and self-assessment. Open fencing is included in all our membership plans, but non-members are also welcome to join. We strongly encourage all fencers to attend, as regular practice in a dynamic environment is key to mastering techniques.
A crucial part of skill development is identifying and correcting mistakes. Instead of repeating errors until you eventually fix them, bout analysis helps you review your performance with a coach, recognize mistakes early, and refine your strategy. This service is especially beneficial for competitive fencers looking to accelerate their improvement.
Strip coaching provides real-time tactical support during competitions. A coach analyzes your opponent, offers strategic advice, and guides you on adjustments to make during the bout. This service is highly recommended for competitive fencers seeking an edge in tournament performance.
Semi-private lessons are ideal for family members or friends who want to train together. These sessions accommodate 2-3 fencers working under the coach's supervision, focusing on key techniques from private lessons but in a collaborative setting. While not as in-depth as private lessons, they are great for refining skills with peers in a supportive environment.
Our seasonal fencing camps cater to all levels, from beginners to elite competitive fencers. These camps provide intensive training in physical, technical, tactical, and mental aspects of fencing, ensuring participants gain the best preparation for their development and competition goals.
